The most basic and essential piece of equipment you’ll need when traveling is a simple money belt. But all are not created equal. The typical tan, cotton money belts that you’ll find at most travel stores, while serviceable, are also bulky and prone to chaffing when worn for extended periods of time. For something that you’ll be wearing all day, everyday, it’s worth it to spend a little bit more and get a quality money belt that’s comfortable. The Eagle Creek Silk Money belt is soft, thin, light, dries quickly, and is one of the best options for carrying your valuables. The only downside is that because it is so thin, you might end up having to patch up a wear spot or two after using it heavily (I didn’t have to patch up mine until after almost a year of wearing it every day though).
